NASA Holds Media Briefing to Discuss Comet Flyby of Mars Observations – See more at: http://www.nasa.gov/press/2014/october/nasa-holds-media-briefing-to-discuss-comet-flyby-of-mars-observations/
The briefing will be held in NASA Headquarters’ auditorium, 300 E Street SW in Washington, and broadcast live on NASA Television and the agency’s website.
Comet C/2013 A1 Siding Spring will
miss Mars by only about 88,000 miles (139,500 kilometers). That is less than
half the distance between Earth and its moon and less than one-tenth the
distance of any known comet flyby of Earth. The comet's nucleus will come
closest to Mars at about 2:27 p.m. EDT (11:27 a.m. PDT), hurtling at about
126,000 mph (56 kilometers per second), relative to Mars.
Colliding Atmospheres: Mars vs Comet Siding Spring
by Dr. Tony Phillips - See more at:
On October 19, 2014, Comet Siding Spring will pass by Mars only 132,000 km away--which would be like a comet passing about 1/3 of the distance between Earth and the Moon. The nucleus of the comet won't hit Mars, but there could be a different kind of collision.
"We hope to witness two atmospheres colliding," explains David Brain of the University of Colorado's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP). "This is a once in a lifetime event!" Everyone knows that planets have atmospheres. Lesser known is that comets do, too. The atmosphere of a comet, called its "coma," is made of gas and dust that spew out of the sun-warmed nucleus. The atmosphere of a typical comet is wider than Jupiter.
"It is possible," says Brain, "that the atmosphere of the comet will interact with the atmosphere of Mars. This could lead to some remarkable effects-including Martian auroras."
The timing could scarcely be better. Just last year, NASA launched a spacecraft named MAVEN to study the upper atmosphere of Mars, and it will be arriving in Sept. 2014 barely a month before the comet.
My opinions: Only Rick Wiles of TruNews has officially joined my bandwagon that we are experiencing the Fourth Seal judgments. Everyone else notices the four omens of War, Disease, Famine, and Zombie/Wild Animal attacks, but they are reserving judgment. Please peruse my rationale for the Seals of Revelation:

Barring a stock market crash (we lost -272 today), or a war, or a new contagion, my next marker is due on October 19, 2014, exactly the day after Sukkot, an eight day festival, and ten days after the second Blood Moon Eclipse of the tetrad, when Comet Siding Spring will either hit or miss Mars. If the comet breaks apart, we can expect asteroids blanketing our planet by Av 9, 2015.
My research is either right or wrong. Either the comet will deflect off Mars into a billion solar bombs showering toward earth, or…? If the comet deflects into pieces, our magnetosphere (-10% 1880-2003, -5% 2003-2013, thinning -10 times faster now) has thinned to the point where most debris will pass through to us. Please enjoy Sukkot and we’ll talk after October 19, 2014.

In order to "curb risks" from ongoing outflows, Putin said on Thursday that Russia wants to shift to national currencies in trade deals with China and other countries, implying a shift away from the U.S. dollar. That appears to be strengthened further this morning as Putin signs law ratifying a Eurasian economic union. And I saw when he opened the chotam hashishi (sixth seal), a great earthquake occurred and the shemesh (sun) became shakhor (black) as sackcloth made of hair and the whole levanah (moon) became like dahm. [Ps 97:4; Isa 29:6; Ezek 38:19; Isa 50:3] And the kokhavim (stars) of Shomayim fell to ha’aretz (the earth), as an etz te’enah (fig tree) casts off its unripe figs when being shaken by a great wind.
