The Supernatural Sword: Revelation 6: Why Does John Use Two Swords?

Image result for machaira swordOne of my friends knows a local man that fashions Hollywood weapons. He studies a weapon’s form and feel, to create a true battle experience for movies. Maybe it’s time to have this man create the two swords of Revelation. You need to discern their differences, for one sword seems to be a natural killing weapon, and the other seems to be supernatural. Why does John, a novice at Greek, switch sword types midstream, and what stories do these two swords tell?

If my biblical theories are correct, the first Seal of Revelation opened years ago in 1967, as the Spirit of a Destroyer was unleashed against Western civilization. The first Seal sign was White and a Bow, a symbol of man's strength, being bent(!) like Jeremiah 51:1-3 states, with no arrows, as in no prodigy, and a cheap stephanos crown. (Revelation 6:1-2)
The Second seal opened 9-11-2001, and commenced with the Iraq War, east of Jerusalem, in 2003. The Second Seal Sign is Red and War, with a standard Machaira (Greek-Strong’s #3162) short sword. This begat a never-ending war against Muslim tribes. Only the Messiah can end it.

When he broke the second seal [9-11-2001], I heard the second living being say, “Go!” Another horse went out, a red one; and its rider was given the power to take peace away from the earth and make people slaughter each other [commencing in 2003]. He was given a great sword [Greek: Makh-ahee-rah, for close-quarter killing]. Revelation 6:3-4 (CJB)
The Third Seal of Revelation opened during the summer of 2012, just prior to Hurricane Sandy, the divided election, and a second storm on the eighth day of a False Jewish Festival resembling Sukkot (prophesied by one man, and another man interpreted 1 Kings 12 as the meaning-Two Witnesses). The Third Seal sign will be high food prices—beginning north of Jerusalem—which should skyrocket this year for poor people’s food, wheat and barley (for animals). However, the wealthy will only be concerned about their oil and wine prices, because they don’t care about the poor.

When he broke the third seal [summer 2012], I heard the third living being say, “Go!” I looked, and there in front of me was a black horse, and its rider held in his hand a pair of scales. Then I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four living beings say, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages! Six pounds of barley for the same price! But don’t damage the oil or the wine!” Revelation 5-6 (CJB)
The Fourth Seal seems to have opened, warning us that a Green (Muslim) southern horde will bring us 1.8 billion deaths via War by a Supernatural Rhomphaia (Greek-Strong’s #4501) long sword, disease, famine, and beastly microscopic animal (Therion-Biological Warfare) attacks.

When he broke the fourth seal [coming soon], I heard the voice of the fourth living being say, “Go!” I looked, and there in front of me was a pallid [green], sickly-looking horse. Its rider’s name was Death, and Sh’ol followed behind him. They were given authority to kill [(by the Sword) Greek: Rhomphaia, long discerning sword used by a horseman] one-quarter [1.75 billion people will die] of the world by war, by famine, by plagues and with the wild [microbes inciting people] animals [Read: Biological Warfare/Zombies] of the earth. Revelation 6:7-8 (CJB)
Why does John use two different swords in Revelation 6, and what differentiates these swords?

3162 máχaira – properly, a slaughter-knife; a short sword or dagger mainly used for stabbing; (figuratively) an instrument for exacting retribution.

4501 rhomphaía – a long Thracian sword; "a sword, scimitar" (Souter). 4501 (rhomphaía) is "a large, broad sword" that both cuts and pierces – an imposing sword, synonymous with finality (dominance).

ῤομφαία, ῤομφαίας, ἡ, a large sword; properly, a long Thracian javelin (cf. Rich, Dict. of Antiq. under the word Rhompaea); also a kind of long sword usually worn on the right shoulder (Hesychius ῤομφαία. Θρακιον ἀμυντηριον, μάχαιρα, ξίφος ἤ ἀκόντιον μακρόν; (Suidas 3223 c. (cf. ῥεμβω to revolve, vibrate)); cf. Plutarch, Aemil. 18); (A. V. sword): Revelation 1:16; Revelation 2:12, 16; Revelation 6:8; Revelation 19:15, 21; σου δέ αὐτῆς τήν ψυχήν διελεύσεται ῤομφαία, a figure for 'extreme anguish shall fill (pierce, as it were) thy soul', Luke 2:35, where cf. Kuinoel. (Josephus, Antiquities 6, 12, 4; 7, 12, 1; in Ev. Nicod. 26 the archangel Michael, keeper of Paradise, is called ἡ φλογινη ῤομφαία. Very often in the Sept. for חֶרֶב; often also in the O. T. Apocrypha.)

The Rhomphaia was a close combat bladed weapon used by the Thracians as early as 400 BC. Rhomphaias were polearms with a straight or slightly curved single-edged blade attached to a pole, which is most cases was considerably shorter than the blade. Although the rhomphaia was similar to the Falx, most archaeological evidence suggests that rhomphaias were forged with straight or slightly curved blades, presumably to enable their use as both a thrusting and slashing weapon. The blade was constructed of iron and used a triangular cross section to accommodate the single cutting edge with a tang of rectangular cross section. Length varied, but a typical rhomphaia would have a blade of approximately 60–80 cm and a tang of approximately 50 cm. From the length of the tang, it can be presumed that, when attached to the hilt, this portion of the weapon would be of similar length to the blade.[1] (Wikipedia)
The Rhomphaia, frequently used in Revelation, is associated with the mighty horseman of God, returning with a supernatural sword coming from his mouth. He is the Messiah, and His Rhomphaia is the Supernatural Word of God. (In Hebrew, look for Cherev Pifiyot in Psalm 149:6 and Isaiah 41:15, its Messianic too).

Writing about the fall of Jerusalem, historian Josephus cited that Halley’s Comet hung like a sword (Rhomphaia) over Jerusalem for nearly a year in 66 CE. This was a sign of impending judgment.
“An interesting linguistic link is that the Greek word used here for sword, Rhomphaia, is the same that Josephus uses for the sword-shaped star over Jerusalem [66CE], and (as discussed below) is also that which the Septuagint (the Greek Bible) uses for the sword over Jerusalem that was in the hand of David's angel. The Septuagint does not use that word for Balaam's angel; but that sword also is not over Jerusalem.
The standard word for sword in the New Testament is machaira, which occurs twenty-nine times, e.g., as in Matthew 10:34, "I have not come to bring peace, but a sword." In contrast, rhomphaia occurs only seven, and all but one of these are in Revelation (referring to the same sword as in 1:16). The one exception is enough to pique our curiosity: outside of Revelation, rhomphaia appears only in Luke, and there only in connection with a prophecy at the birth of Jesus:” (G. J. Goldberg) See more at: http://www.josephus.org/starOfBethlehem.htm
Shim‘on blessed them and said to the child’s mother, Miryam, “This child will cause many in Isra’el to fall and to rise, he will become a sign whom people will speak against; moreover, a sword [Greek: Rhom-phaia] will pierce your own heart too. All this will happen in order to reveal many people’s inmost thoughts.” Luke 2:33-35 (CJB)
Do you see it? Do you see the messianic heart-rending connection? We are coming to the time when the rhomphaia will pierce your heart supernaturally, and then the flat blade and the horseman's actions will drive people into sentencing groups.

See, the Word of God is alive! It is at work and is sharper than any double-edged sword (more than a Mach-ahee-rah, thus its a Rhomphaia) — it cuts right through to where soul meets spirit and joints meet marrow, and it is quick to judge the inner reflections and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12 (CJB)
We seem to be entering to the Rhomphaia Phase where we must decide which spirit we embrace. Our hearts will soon be pierced by a Messianic horse rider supernaturally. If HaShem’s judgment is at your doorstep, what’s inside your heart?

Now, please read Psalm 91, to discover that each of the four judgments of Revelation 6:8 are found within this prayer for “The secret place of security” (Scofield). When war, famine, plague, and beastly animals kill 1.75 billion people someday soon, pray this wonderful Psalm.
