John Kerry announces the USA will "Accelerate the political transition in Syria."

Why is it that pacifism never works, yet it is always the first strategy employed worldwide? Diplomacy only works with dictators that are fools or cowards. Diplomacy worked in, we invaded Panama in 1989. Even though Noriega was a fool and a coward, somebody had to invade his country to topple his leadership. Why not shoot first, and ask questions later, when we deal with rogue dictators?

Is Iran complying with sanctions? No, they're quickly creating nukes. How are sanctions working in North Korea? Poorly. They have nukes too. Look across the world; where we pacify, local dictators are fomenting war. Syria is the most egregious.

If world leaders think they can influence Syrian Leader Basher Assad to peacefully resign, they're sadly mistaken. His goals are simple: Win his war, or kill every citizen of Damascus. If John Kerry thinks Basher Assad is walking away peacefully, he's a useful idiot, a tool for rogue dictators.

Pray for Damascus. The time stated in Isaiah 17:1 is near.

An oracle concerning Damascus.

Behold, Damascus will cease to be a city
and will become a heap of ruins. (ESV)
