Some
aspects of my triangulation of prophetic sources may be disturbing, but the thought
of the Antichrist running rampant across the planet are even more disturbing.
According to Roman Catholic websites, one thousand years ago, a saint named Malachy
wrote that the next pope after Benedict XVI will be the last pope and he will be the 666th Pope (by Roman numerals
since 1798 when Napoleon killed the Pope). St. Malachy references this final
Pope … “will be known as PETER THE ROMAN.” The 112th prophesy states: “In the final
persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Petrus Romanus, who will
feed his flock amid many tribulations; after which the seven-hilled city will
be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people. The End. The last pope may just cut Catholics loose from unity and the

The
St. Malachy Prophecy is too detailed for me to list it entirely. There are
aspects of this prophecy that make me squeamish. I have relatives and friends
that are wonderful godly Roman Catholic Christians. And I love them dearly. As I have stated
previously, even a false prophecy can hold some measure of truth in it. What
seems logical is that the Antichrist will need to destroy the Roman Catholic
Church. It is a powerful Christian Church that will impede his demonic efforts.
If the last pope does create disunity by undermining the authority of the
papacy, this will aid the Antichrist. I may not particularly like the prophecy,
but it has merit.

It's not about saving the "Church." The term we know as quahol/ecclesia/assembly/church isn't uniquely western; it is eternal. No one, especially God, cares about vacant western church buildings, devoid of faith. Is Peter the Antichrist? No. Is he the False Prophet? Possibly. Will his acsension signal the end of the Catholic Church? Maybe, but I submit it's not about buildings and denomonations, it's about faith in small gatherings. Can my unlikely heroes...you're using my site to sell your books. I'll leave your post up, but I'm not sure your eschatology is worth $8. God Bless!
